Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) asked us to design and develop an API Portal that provides information, documentation, and access to their APIs for internal and external developers. Current state lacked organization and had no visual design; it was limited only to internal users using their VPN.

Research
I conducted research on banking API portals and other best-in-class API documentation to analyze patterns and document information.

With this information and along with stakeholders, we created a list of three users and a sitemap that detailed the pages or features that aligned with each level of security.

Challenges + Future
While I learned a lot from this project, there were definitely lots of challenges we had to overcome. The biggest challenge was lack of access to developers who had used the existing system- both to do research and to test our designs. We did our best with the resources made available to us, but also took advantage of developers on the PS side of things.
Production is still ongoing, so there will definitely be many changes to be made once the site is live!
